"Why should I get into deals with Ranil?"

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has dismissed reports of a potential merger between the SJB and the UNP, as well as claims that he would become the Prime Minister under Ranil Wickremesinghe if Wickremesinghe wins the next Presidential election. 

 

 

He questioned why he would engage in such deals with Wickremesinghe. Responding to criticism from ruling party MPs about raising unnecessary questions in Parliament, Premadasa defended his actions, stating that raising questions about issues faced by the people is important. 

 

 

He emphasized that he raises questions to address problems like hunger, thirst, and poor-quality medicine. 

 

 

He also stated that he doesn't want to be like Opposition MPs who receive monthly payments from the President.
