Formal training for pre-school teachers

State Minister of Women and Child Affairs, Mrs. Geetha Kumarasinghe, highlighted plans to improve early childhood development. 

 

 

This includes formal training for pre-school teachers and ensuring they receive salaries. She spoke at a press conference about focusing on children's health and nutrition. 

 

 

The government aims to enhance the training level of pre-school teachers, similar to countries like Japan and Switzerland. The government also wants pre-schools to follow regulations and have trained teachers. 

 

 

Kumarasinghe mentioned discussions about child care in hospitals and addressing violence against women and child abuse.

 

 

Awareness programs and support for pregnant mothers are also being continued.
