Army cyclist was arrested for his malicious behaviour in a contest

A Sri Lanka Army soldier has been arrested for pushing and causing serious injury to another cyclist during a cycling contest held on Sunday (23).

 

A Sri Lanka Army soldier was arrested by Hirana Police. He has been arrested for pushing and causing serious injury to another Army soldier during a cycling contest. According to the police the suspect is attached to the Kohuwala camp and is an Army soldier.

 

The injured one is a Corporal from the same Army Camp and a member of the cycling team.

 

During the contest, the Army soldier reached the Corporal who was riding ahead of him and pushed him making him fall over a 7-year-old child who was watching the contest. 

 

The child has been admitted to the Panadura Hospital, while the Corporal has been transferred to the Colombo National Hospital. 

 

The suspect is to be produced before the Panadura Magistrate’s Court.
