A warning from the President to the teachers

President Ranil Wickremesinghe had issued a warning to the teachers pertaining to the evaluation of examination papers.

 

According to the president, students and their education should not be allowed to be taken hostage.

 

He stressed that education would be made an essential service under emergency law if teachers refuse to return to paper marking by next week.

 

Addressing the progress review meeting of the Education Ministry held at the Presidential Secretariat, he made this remark this morning. (19)
