Alleged sexual harassment of P’ment staff

Alleged sexual harassment of P’ment staff

The Women Parliamentarians caucus in Sri Lanka has raised concerns about attempts to influence the investigations into alleged sexual abuse of females in the Parliament's Housekeeping Department.

It was claimed that some individuals have been pressuring the harassed staff to provide written promises not to disclose the incidents, thus hindering the ongoing investigations.

A committee led by the Parliamentary Secretary-General has been established to probe the allegations. The Women MPs' Caucus has called for proper action and justice for the victims, emphasizing the need for transparency and protection for those willing to share information about the incidents.
