National Vesak festival is to be held in Puttalam district in 2023

Under the Chairmanship of M.P. Upul Mahendra Rajapaksha, a discussion related to the future affairs of the Sectoral Oversight Committee on Religious Affairs and Co-Existence was held recently. 

 

The meeting was held to identify the role, scope, future program and problems of the institutions under the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs.

 

The Secretary of the Ministry Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, Mr. Somaratne Vidanapathirana told at the meeting that the arrangements have been made to hold this year’s Vesak festival in Puttalam district.

 

The intention of the program is to hold the festival with the support of other religions.
