A cyclist is killed in a motor accident Three pedestrians are critically injured

Due to a motor accident, a cyclist had been killed and three others sustained injuries in the Moratuwa area. The deceased is a 58-year-old resident of the Horethuduwa area of Panadura, according to the police findings.

 

The accident was caused today (Monday 10) by a vehicle (van) belonging to Sri Lanka Army.

 

The van had stopped after crashing into the cyclist and a group of pedestrians who were walking alongside. The injured had been admitted to the hospital and the army driver had been apprehended. He will be presented before Moratuwa Magistrate’s Court, the police said.

 

Moratuwa Police is in charge of further investigations regarding the incident.
