The Chairman of PUCSL requests CEB to reduce tariff

Janaka Ratnayake; the Chairman of the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) has made a request to the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) proposal to reduce the tariff amount concerning the recent development in the country that causes to decrease the costs of the CEB.

 

He made a statement to the media that the electricity charges can be reduced by 30% under prevalent circumstances. 
 

 

The electricity demand this year is 18% less compared to 2022, according to him.

 

Further, he added that the reduction of the US Dollars exchange rate from Rs. 370 to Rs.325 can reduce fuel and other import costs.
