‘Inefficient’ cops transferred

In response to Public Security Minister Tiran Alles' directive, several ineffective senior Police officers and Officers-in-Charge (OIC) have been transferred to different areas due to their alleged failure to curb crime. 

 

 

The decision came after the Inspector General of Police (IGP) noted that increased crime rates in specific Provinces were linked to the inefficiency of certain officers. 

 

 

Police Media Spokesman Nihal Thalduwa confirmed recent transfers and mentioned that officers with field expertise are being reassigned to high-crime areas as a solution.
