‘Fernando’s parents cannot apologise for son

Pastor Jerome Fernando is facing controversy for allegedly making offensive statements about Buddhism, Hinduism, and Islam. 

 

 

His parents sought a meeting with Chief Prelates to apologize on his behalf, but Ven. Omalpe Sobitha Thera stated that Fernando himself should apologize. 

 

 

The controversy stems from a sermon video leading to a CID investigation. An arrest warrant and travel ban were issued, but Fernando left the country before their enforcement.
