Smugglers and drunken drivers have Covid protection

On Friday, five Indian fishermen trying to smuggle fancy good items and pharmaceutical products into the country were taken into Naval custody in Mannar, but were released hours later without being subjected to any legal action as the officers feared Covid infection. The five fishermen were asked to sail back as quick as possible to Tamil Nadu in their own vessel.
Meanwhile, the Traffic police are puzzled how they could detect persons driving under the influence of liquor without being infected with Covid. Policemen are reluctant to approach drivers even if they sell l of liquor. A motorist who was under the influence of liquor said to a policeman ‘could blow the balloon but are you willing to take the risk of covid as I am just out of quarantine. The policeman had to reluctantly back off.
