Dilhara Lokuhettige banned for eight years

Sri Lanka’s fast bowler Dilhara Lokuhettige has been severly punished by the International Cricket Council (ICC) former Sri Lanka cricketer Dilhara Lokuhettige was found guilty of three breaches, including his failure to inform officials of any approaches received to engage in corrupt conduct.\
The ban had been toughened because he refused to cooperate and he joined ranks with other Sri Lankan cricketers who in the ‘black sheep’ clan. The 40-year-old, who played nine one-day internationals and two Twenty20 internationals for Sri Lanka between 2005 and 2013 was punished after a two-year inquiry.
He was charged with match-fixing at the T10 tournament in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. Lokuhettige got trapped by an Aljazeera undercover reporter and discussed how to fix a match .
Nuwan Zoysa,who was found guilty of three counts of corruption relating to the same T10 tournament is awaiting to be sentenced.Sanath Jayasuriya was banned from all cricket for two years in February 2019 after admitting two breaches of the anti-corruption code.
