Sinopharm vaccine under heavy fire

The National Medicines Regulatory Authority (NMRA)  has given permission to allow the import of the Sinopharm vaccine. The vaccine forum claims that a waiver has been given to import this vaccine without proper evaluations.

 

The Vaccine Forum has called upon the health ministry to  “strictly” follow the eight-member expert Panel recommendations.

 

The committee recommends not to use the vaccine until more information is available and evaluated.

 

The Sinopharm vaccine has received ‘waiver of registration’ by Sri Lanka’s drug regulator on the night of March 19, despite protest. And a number of quarries unanswered by the regulators.

A rate of  76.06% and 78.01%. has been claimed for the Sinopharm vaccine.
