Police dogs are trained to identify mosquito larvae

Senior DIG Police Media Spokesman Ajith Rohana said that after training by the Kandy Police Dog Training Unit to detect the presence of mosquito larvae in places where water accumulates, polluting the area, dogs Johnny and Roma were successfully bitten by mosquitoes.
The senior DIG said that more official dogs will be trained in this manner to identify mosquito larvae in the future.
He further said that the nearly 200 official dogs possessed by the Sri Lanka Police are successfully assisting in various police operations.
