Man arrested for posing as coordinating secretary to a state minister

The Colombo Crimes Division stated that a 28-year-old resident of Kelaniya has been arrested for posing as the Coordinating Secretary to State Minister Dilum Amunugama and embezzling Rs. 12 million.

Police said that the man had swindled the money to buy a vehicle from a person in the Badulla area.

The suspect has been shown a forged identity card and forged documents to show that he is the Coordinating Secretary to the Minister of State and he is due to be produced in court today.
