PM's first visit to Jaffna under the SLPP government

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa is scheduled to pay a two day visit to Jaffna from July 31 to August 1.

Geethanath Kasilingham, Coordinating Secretary for the North and East and Government Special Resettlement Facilitator, said this was the Prime Minister's first visit since the People's Government came to power last year.

During the visit, a desalination factory will be set up in Thaliyadi, Jaffna, and houses and deeds will be handed over to newly settled families in the North, he said.
