Major General Priyantha Perera appointed new Chief of Staff of the Army

On the recommendation of the Chief of Defense Staff and Army Commander Shavendra Silva, President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has appointed Major General Priyantha Perera as the new Chief of Staff with effect from tomorrow.

 

Major General Priyantha Perera, a past pupil of Isipathana College, Colombo, has joined the Sri Lanka Army as a regular recruitment cadet and has completed basic training at the Kotelawala Defense Academy and the Sri Lanka Army Academy.

 

He is also the Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Women's Brigade.
