The Vice Chancellor of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura has been appointed as the Chairman of the Expert Committee

The Leader of the House, Minister of External Affairs Dinesh Gunawardena said that the Vice Chancellor of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Senior Professor Sudantha Liyanage has been appointed as the Chairman of the Committee of Experts appointed to analyze the election structure and proposals to reform the election law.

 

Dr. Anura Karunatilake, Suren Fernando, Prof. P. Balasundaram Pillai and Gautam Balachandran are the other members of the committee.

The Secretary to the Parliamentary Select Committee, Chief of Staff, Deputy Secretary General of Parliament Kushani Rohanadheera said that 255 proposals had been received from public and civil society organizations to reform the electoral structure and election law and the deadline for submission of proposals was July 15.
