Two persons arrested for threatening obscene photographs on social media

A 33 year old woman who had an affair with a man living in England for about two years has been threatened with posting obscene photos on social media and demanded a ransom of Rs. 1.7 million.

 The 33 year old woman was talking to a man living in England when various obscene photos were taken by the man on social media without the woman's protest.

The woman had threatened to post the photos on social media and demanded a ransom of Rs. 1.7 million, of which she had agreed to pay Rs. 700,000.

Two Sri Lankans were arrested when they arrived to collect the money, police said, adding that they were investigating a resident of England.
