Mother arrested for selling five days old baby for Rs. 100,000

The child, who was born out of wedlock when she was living alone apart from her first marriage, has been sold because she has trouble remarrying.

A group of her relatives had lodged a complaint with the police and the woman was arrested by the Nelliady Police in Jaffna.

When questioned, the woman had said that the child had been given to a cousin for adoption. Police are investigating to find the woman.
