Pakistan will maintain amicable relations with Sri Lanka

Maj.Gen (Rtd) Muhammad Saad Khattak, Pakistan's High Commissioner, said his country would remain committed to its friendly relations with Sri Lanka notwithstanding the country's ups and downs in all aspects of life.

The envoy was speaking at a press conference at his Colombo post. In the presence of the deputy chief of mission, Tanwir Ahamed, the envoy was introduced to journalists by press counsellor Kalsoom Jilani.

Following Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan's recent visit to the country, the two countries have established new areas of collaboration in order to push bilateral relations to new heights and continue to support each other's progress.

When Pakistan's Prime Minister, Imran Khan, visited Colombo in April, the High Commissioner noted that trade and investment were major topics of discussion. Pakistan is currently led by geo-economics rather than geo-strategy, as per the Prime Minister's intentions, and is interested in building economic ties with other countries.
