New Kelani Suspension Bridge and the latest

Today, the new Kelani Bridge in Peliyagoda was connected at the river's center. The ceremony was hosted by Johnston Fernando, the Minister of Highways.
The six-lane bridge, which intends to relieve traffic congestion in Colombo and the surrounding areas, is Sri Lanka's first to use hi-tech stay cables.
The project was to build a new six-lane suspension bridge close to the existing one and was launched by the Highways Ministry and the Road Development Authority (RDA).
The weight of the deck is distributed between two towers via a cable support system on this bridge. The deck is supported from the towers by vertical suspender cables, and the main cables are connected to anchorages at each end of the bridge by main cables hanging between towers.
As a result, the new Kelani Bridge's deck was linked to the river's center today.
