Weather Alert - Public to be vigilant to minimize damages due to strong winds and lightning during thundershowers

Showers or thundershowers are expected in the Central and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as the Galle and Matara districts, at times. Showers with a rainfall total of more than 75 mm are possible in certain areas.

Showers will hit the Western and North-Western regions in waves.

Strong gusty winds of up to 60 kmph are expected on the western slopes of the Central hills at times, and gusty winds of up to 50 kmph are expected in the Northern, North-Central, North-Western, Western, and Southern provinces, as well as the Trincomalee district.
