Sri Lanka's tea export earnings up

Sri Lanka's tea export earnings have grown significantly in the first six months of this year. Tea export earnings have grown by 14% to US $ 650 in the first six months of this year alone.

The increase in tea exports in the first six months of this year was due to the production of nearly 30 million kilograms in June, the highest production in five years.

Exports of tea also rose 10 percent to 137 million kilograms, according to brokerage firm Asia Hundred.
