Man arrested for submitting forged documents to buy a car

A 48 year old resident of Battaramulla has been arrested by the Teldeniya Special Crime Unit for submitting forged documents to buy a car.

A forged document signed by the bank manager stating that there is Rs. 2.8 million in a private and state bank account in the Digana area has been prepared and then a car worth Rs. 2.4 million has been leased to the relevant financial institution, said Senior DIG Ajith Rohana. .

He further stated that the suspect is to be produced before the Teldeniya Magistrate's Court today.
