Health officials provide a final caution about weddings amidst Covid in SL

Health officials have determined to take harsh legal action against people who break health regulations during wedding events.
Weddings with a maximum of 150 guests or a 25% sitting capacity are now permitted, according to the Health Ministry.
However, police say there have been numerous occasions where the restrictions have been broken.
“If the public does not follow health recommendations when hosting weddings, there is a risk of a forming ‘wedding cluster,” Army Commander General Shavendra Silva said Wednesday.
He said, "It was stated that some marriages had over 250 attendees."
All weddings will be inspected starting today, according to the Public Health Inspectors Union, and if health criteria are broken, legal action will be taken against the violators.
Meanwhile, a senior health ministry official has told the media that wedding planners have been issued a final warning.
“We will review the permission given. If the guidelines are not followed, we have to revoke the permission. We have given them a final warning” Health Ministry Official has told.
