Four persons arrested for posing as police intelligence

Moragahahena Police have arrested four suspects in the Welmilla area for allegedly soliciting money from various individuals claiming to be from the Police Intelligence and produced them before the Horana Magistrate and remanded them.

The suspects, identified as Western Provincial Intelligence officers, are residents of Piliyandala, Mount Lavinia, Katubedda and Bandaragama, said Senior DIG Police Spokesman Ajith Rohana.

He further requested the public to be vigilant about criminals posing as the police and to inform the nearest police station or the '119' emergency telephone number if there is any suspicion.
