India imposes travel ban on UK due to quarantine rules

India imposes travel ban on UK due to quarantine rules

The new ordinance will impose a 10-day quarantine on all British nationals in the same way that the UK currently implements quarantine measures on fully vaccinated Indians.

The new measures take effect on October 4, and it appears that talks between India and the United Kingdom on the need for a 10-day mandatory quarantine have stalled.

According to the new regulations, all British nationals coming to India from the UK, regardless of vaccination status, must be tested for COVID-19 RT-PCR 72 hours before departure and similar tests upon arrival.

British sources have previously said that there is no problem with the Covshield vaccine, but that there are "technical difficulties" preventing the UK from joining India, which requires verification of vaccine certificates.
