Police officer arrested for drunken misconduct at Magistrate's official residence

A police officer attached to the Ambalangoda Police who was deployed to guard the Balapitiya Magistrate's official residence last night has been arrested for misbehaving outside the house.

The police officer who was on duty at the Magistrate's official residence from 6.00 pm yesterday to 6.00 am today was arrested and referred to a doctor at the Balapitiya Hospital and it has been confirmed that he was under the influence of alcohol.

The suspect is to be produced before the Balapitiya Magistrate's Court today.
