Mahela Jayawardene has been appointed as an advisor to the national team

Former captain of the Sri Lanka Cricket team Mahela Jayawardene has been appointed as an advisor to the Sri Lanka Cricket national team and the under 19 team.

Sri Lanka Cricket has announced that Mahela will share his knowledge and experience with the team during the World Cup qualifiers.

Mahela Jayawardene is set to coach Sri Lanka at next year's Under-19 World Cup.

The Sri Lanka Cricket Committee has decided to appoint Mahela Jayawardena to the post on the recommendation of the Sri Lanka Cricket Technical Advisory Committee.
