President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa attends the New York 9/11 celebrations

A special commemoration ceremony was held near the Manhattan Memorial in the United States to mark the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attack on the Pentagon, the World Trade Center in New York and the headquarters of the U.S. Department of Defense.
President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa of Sri Lanka and other Heads of State and Government attended the UN General Assembly to pay their respects to the victims of the attack.
The event is jointly organized by the 9/11 Memorial Museum and the United Nations Office on Counter-Terrorism to coincide with the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
