Heavy showers exceeding 50 mm are possible in the Galle, Matara districts and in some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central Provinces.

Showers or thundershowers will occur in other areas during the evening, the Met Department said.

The Meteorological Department urges the public to take action to minimize the damage caused by lightning and temporary winds.
