Focus on weather today

Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the Northern, Eastern and Uva provinces during the evening. Showers are also expected in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North Western provinces and in the Matara and Galle districts, the Met Department said.

 Moderate to strong winds of 40-50 kmph are possible in the Hambantota district. The Meteorological Department urges the public to take measures to protect themselves from accidents caused by lightning and temporary strong winds.
