Kotte Municipal Council employee caught with drugs

Welikada Police have arrested a Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte Municipal Council worker with 100 grams of ice and 3 grams and 100 milligrams of heroin worth nearly 750,000 rupees.

According to information received by the Welikada Anti-Corruption Unit, the suspect, identified as "Sudu Putha", a resident of Moragasmulla, Rajagiriya, was arrested at a three-wheeler park near Moragasmulla Junction.

The suspect, who is addicted to ice, had been buying ice and heroin from two persons in Koswatta and Angoda for five years and had distributed the drugs to Kotte Municipal Council employees and employees at the Katunayake Airport.

Accordingly, the suspect is to be produced before the Maligakanda Magistrate's Court.
