Drivers and conductors arrested for overcrowding

Minister of State Dilum Amunugama stated that the IGP has been informed in writing to strictly enforce the law against bus employees who transport passengers in excess of the number of seats.

The drivers and conductors of such buses are to be arrested and produced before court under quarantine laws.

Minister of State Amunugama further stated that the buses will also be arrested by the police and their licenses will be suspended.
