Covid spreads - 997 cases - Closures  and Isolation Continues

A total of 997 COVID-19 patients were detected so far today taking the total number of cases in the Divulapitiya, Peliyagoda, and Prisons clusters to 96,638, the Government Information Department said. Education Minister G.L Peiris has decided to close all schools in the Western Province (WP) and North Western Province (NWP) till Friday (April 30) said.

 

The Department of Motor Traffic (DMT) had decided to limit its operations in issuing driving licences in the Werahera Branch following the COVID-19 threat in the country, DMT Commissioner Sumith C.K. Alahakoon said.

 

He said the services will be provided in the following manner for the general public who will be requested to call over after making a prior appointment in the afternoon between 27 and May 13 (both days inclusive) through Telephone 011-2677877 of the DMT Werahera Office.

 

Polhena, Heeralugedara, Kaluaggala & Aswennawaththa East GN Divisions in Gampaha District, Miriswatta and Pelanwatta North & East GN Divisions in the Kalutara District and Pumpuhar GN Division in Trincomalee District has  been  isolated.
