The State Minister of Finance, Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, has provided reassurance that Sri Lanka will experience a positive economic growth rate.

State Minister of Finance Ranjith Siyambalapitiya expresses confidence that Sri Lanka's economic growth rate will show positive progress in the final quarter of 2023.
According to the State Minister, despite various predictions from international financial institutions, Sri Lanka successfully managed its economy last year.
However, the World Bank predicts a negative growth rate of -4.2% for Sri Lanka in 2023, while the International Monetary Fund predicts -3%, and the Central Bank of Sri Lanka estimates it to be between -2% and -3%.
Nonetheless, the State Minister emphasises the importance of collective efforts to increase the GDP, ultimately leading to a positive economic growth rate by the end of 2023.
