Daughter of two Sri Lankan champions became a champion of the USA

Tashiya Piyadasa, who is of Sri Lankan descent, has won the Under 11 US Nationals Girls' Singles table tennis championship. Tashiya is the eldest daughter of two proud Sri Lankan table tennis champions Thilina Piyadasa and Rifkaa Kameel. Thilina won a number of national table tennis competitions during his time, while Rifka was another well-known national table tennis player who helped the country gain international recognition. In 1997, she was the first woman from the Sri Lankan Muslim community to captain the Sri Lankan table tennis team at a Junior table tennis tournament that took place in Dhaka , Bangladesh.

 

 

 

Tashiya has a younger sister, and the two of them play table tennis together under the guidance of their father, Thilina Piyadasa.
