CEB will absorb 4,000 temporary staff after HR evaluation

Ower and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera announced in Parliament that around 4,000 temporary employees working at the Electricity Board would be confirmed in the future.
The confirmation process has been delayed due to the ongoing human resources census conducted by the Electricity Board. However, the Minister expressed his hope to confirm those working continuously in the next few months.
The recruitment of this group was temporarily halted, but they are known for their dedicated work in the Electricity Board. The Minister assured that they would be confirmed in the future, and promotion procedures, which have also been temporarily stopped, will be resumed.
Following the restructuring of the Electricity Board, all current employees will be accommodated in the new companies, ensuring their salaries are not higher than their current levels.
The Minister emphasized that the existing facilities provided by the Electricity Board will be continued, and there will be no new recruitments. The individuals currently employed will be assigned to work in these new companies.
