President Wickremesinghe optimistic about Sri Lanka overcoming bankruptcy by September

President Ranil Wickremesinghe expressed optimism about Sri Lanka's ability to overcome its bankruptcy by September. The government had previously announced a temporary suspension of external debt repayments due to financial difficulties caused by both internal and external factors. 

 

 

President Wickremesinghe emphasized the importance of collective efforts to support the government's initiatives, particularly highlighting the significance of the Domestic Debt Restructuring (DDR) plan. 

 

 

The DDR plan, or Domestic Debt Optimisation (DDO), aims to address the country's financial challenges and restore its stability.
