President sets ambitious timeline for Sri Lanka's debt restructuring and reconciliation efforts

President Ranil Wickremesinghe of Sri Lanka aims to finalize the debt restructuring process by September while prioritizing structural reforms and economic liberalization. 

 

 

He discussed these plans during the International Democrat Union event in London, emphasizing the progress made in resolving critical issues and engaging with Tamil representatives. 

 

 

Agreements have been reached on truth and reconciliation, legislation drafting, and an anti-terrorist law. Efforts are underway to address land concerns and utilize the Missing Persons Office. 

 

 

The President anticipates presenting a comprehensive process by July, considering the necessary legislative procedures.
