Aswesuma beneficiaries urged to open bank accounts

The Sri Lankan Government has urged beneficiaries of the Aswesuma welfare scheme to open bank accounts for direct cash transfers. 

 

 

The State Minister of Finance stated that District and Divisional Secretaries will assist in expediting the bank account opening process. People's Bank branches in the Hambantota district remained open to facilitate account openings. 

 

 

The Prime Minister has issued directives to finalize the process by the weekend and disburse payments promptly to the beneficiaries.
