Full implementation of the 13 Amendment

The National People's Power (NPP) led by the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) will not participate in the planned all-party conference to discuss the 13th Amendment to the Constitution. 

 

 

They believe the government's efforts are deceptive. The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) will attend the conference but discuss concerns separately. 

 

 

The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) will participate and support genuine efforts to resolve minority issues. The Freedom People's Congress (FPC) is doubtful about being invited but will decide after a joint opposition meeting. 

 

 

The SLPP's General Secretary questioned the President's moral right to implement the 13th Amendment.
