Top CCP politburo member meets President

Yuan Jiajun, a member of the Chinese Communist Party (CPC) Central Committee Politburo, visited President Ranil Wickremesinghe at the Presidential Secretariat on Saturday (22).

 

 

During the meeting, President Wickremesinghe discussed Sri Lanka's development plans, focusing on improving connectivity with the rest of Asia. He emphasized the importance of regional cooperation in promoting economic growth and creating more trade and investment opportunities.

 

 

President Wickremesinghe also updated the Chinese delegation on the progress of Sri Lanka's debt restructuring efforts. He expressed confidence that the successful completion of the restructuring would lead to the resumption of several stalled development projects, further enhancing the nation's economic development.
