A Death at Devon Beauty: A Mother of four committed suicide

Due to an alleged family dispute, a mother of four kids took a fatal leap at Devon Falls today – April 22. According to the Dimbula Pathana Police, the deceased had arrived at the police station with two of her four children and filed a complaint regarding a family conflict.

 

With one of her children, she had visited the waterfall and sent the child away to bring her a bottle of water. She had then jumped to her death when the child left the area, the Dimbula Pathana Police said.

 

The woman was identified as Lechchuman Nishanthani, a resident of Bogahawatte, Dimbula Pathana. As reported, she was 34 years old when died. The police investigation was launched after her child ran back to the station claiming that his mother had jumped off the waterfall. Further police investigations into the matter are underway.
