A premeditated murder is reported from Elpitiya

A premeditated murder has been reported from Elpitiya. A woman lost her life in a road accident, while she was waiting on the side of the road near the Niyagama Pradeshiya Sabha area in Talgaswala, Pitigala on April 30.

 

Police have uncovered that the death of the woman who died in the accident was, in fact, a premeditated murder.

 

According to Pitigala Police, the crime had been pre-planned by the victim’s husband in order to obtain her life insurance compensation. The police have uncovered that it was a premeditated murder, and the deceased woman’s husband has been arrested on suspicion of the crime.

 

Police further mentioned that the husband of the 40-year-old deceased woman was aged 25.
