Several areas are warned today regarding landslides

Landslide early warnings were issued for several areas in Badulla, Kandy and Kegalle. According to The National Building Research Organization (NBRO), a Level 1 (Yellow) warning has been issued for the Gangawata Korale Divisional Secretariat Division and its surrounding areas.

 

Badulla district – Haldummulla Divisional Secretariat Division
Kandy district – Udapalatha Divisional Secretariat Division
Kegalle district – Kegalle Divisional Secretariat Division

 

For the past 24 hours these areas have received rainfall over 75mm and people who reside in those areas have been urged to be on alert about the possibility of landslides, slope failures, rock falls, cutting failures and ground subsidence.
