The Galle Literary Festival to promote tourism

The Galle Literary Festival is to be held in a grand way after several years of silence, under the directive from President Ranil Wickremesinghe, the President’s Media Division (PMD) says.

 

The main focus of the program is to promote the tourism industry and a series of programs will take place in the areas of Galle, Matara, Ahangama, and Hikkaduwa in January 2024.

 

A preliminary was held in this regard on Friday (April 28) at the Presidential Secretariat under the patronage of President Ranil Wickremesinghe.

 

In order to promote tourism and highlight the local identity, it is important to schedule various forms of art including new art media (Modern Art), music, fashion show, book exhibition and festivals etc.

 

The major focus of the program is to take Sri Lankan pride to the world. For the discussion, The Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera, President’s Secretary Saman Ekanayake, and other government officials, including the secretaries of ministries had joined.
