Fertilizer coupons distributed to 70% of farmers

The Ministry of Agriculture has announced that 70% of farmers have received fertilizer subsidy coupons. The Ministry released a statement mentioning that the Department of Agricultural Development informed Subject Minister Mahinda Amaraweera about this development on Sunday (11). 

 

 

Measures are being taken to ensure the remaining coupons are distributed to farmers by the end of next week.

 

 

On Saturday (10), a shipment containing 22,500 metric tons of urea arrived in Sri Lanka. Minister Amaraweera has instructed fertilizer companies to distribute the stock to Agrarian Development Centers promptly. The urea distribution to these centers will commence on Monday (12).
