A child found dead in Mulleriyawa

A child’s dead body was found in Mulleriyawa from a construction site on Thursday evening (June 08).

 

The cause of the death has been discovered as cut wounds from the pieces of a broken glass bottle.

 

Having been notified by 119 emergency services, the Mulleriyawa Police initiated the investigations.

 

The preliminary investigations have revealed that the excessive bleeding caused by the cut wound has caused the death.

 

The child is looked after by his grandparents while his mother who was identified as a divorcee is away at work during the day.

 

The deceased body has been sent to the Infectious Disease Hospital in Mulleriyawa for post-mortem examination.
